Diesel SoloBuy Tickets Online
Americana. It’s music that draws from America’s roots, from country, folk, bluegrass, R&B, the blues … But to Mark Lizotte, the musician known and loved as Diesel, Americana is the very core of his being. It’s the music of his childhood and, as an artist born in America and raised in Australia, a link back to the land he’d left behind.
On his new album Americana, Diesel pays tribute to the artists that inspired the musician he would become – one of our nation’s most lauded, accomplished and hard-working rock guitarists and singers – by putting his own unique stamp on a collection of classic songs.
In short, he re-traces the steps of his musical education paying respect to Tom Petty, CCR, The Band, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt and more.
The doorway into Americana, however, is a creation all Diesel’s own. Hank’s Dream was a melody that circled his head during three sleepless nights in New York last year and its title refers to the spark that brought the Lizottes to Australia all those years ago: Dad Hank’s dream of a different life on the other side of the world.
Uncannily, around the same time, one of the Lizzotte boys stumbled upon a photo from Hank and Theresa’s wedding album. “It’s this incredible black and white photo of them in front of this in front of this ridiculously big old Buick that they borrowed – they got married on a shoestring and borrowed a car from the Navy,” Diesel says. “There they are, in front of it, all dressed up … that’s classic Americana to me. So when this album happened I was like, ‘There’s my cover’.”
So now, 27 years after he busted out of the garage and into the Australian psyche with Don’t Need Love and Soul Revival, it’s time for fans to circle back and hear the songs that made the man. Americana… Diesel Solo.

Awarded ‘Album Of The Year’ at the 1990 ARIA Awards and going on to win a total of 5 ARIA Awards that night is one thing, but one could easily be forgiven for thinking ‘Matchbook’ was the Greatest Hits album of the legendary Ian Moss!
‘Tuckers Daughter’, ‘Telephone Booth’, ‘Beautiful Thing’, ‘Out of the Fire’, and ‘Mr Rain’ all feature on the 1989 solo debut album from the enigmatic Cold Chisel guitarist and singer.
Produced by Chris Lord-Alge and released in August 1989, Matchbook spent three consecutive weeks at #1, staying in the Top 10 for a staggering 14 weeks and went on to sell in excess of Double Platinum. The DVD of the Matchbook Concert Tour went Gold on the day of release
This landmark album included songs penned not only by Mossy, but also by Chisel bandmate Don Walker and included Steve Prestwich on drums along with a who’s who of Australian musicians.

The Eagles StoryBuy Tickets Online
Over the years the line-up of the band has changed, just like the originals, and has evolved into what you see today. Featuring five of Melbourne’s most in demand and respected players and vocalists, this band has all of the ingredients needed to replicate some of the greatest vocal arrangements and complex melodies ever produced.
With such a huge catalogue of hits to choose from, the most difficult task for the band is deciding what songs to leave out, but don’t worry, from One of these Nights to Lyin Eyes to Peaceful Easy Feelin' and with a brief stopover at the Hotel California along the way, the show never leaves you wondering. You will know every song and every song in turn will take you back to a time and place when life was just a little less complicated and just maybe, a whole lot more fun.
The level of commitment from The Eagles Story to deliver the type of experience that can only come when great musicians are playing great songs is beyond doubt. Filled with amazing harmonies, memorable melody lines and those incredible guitar duels that became trade mark for the band, these Melbourne masters continue to perpetuate the glory that is the music of The Eagles.
